They’re disrespecting my ability to make a decision based on my evidence and what I see in front of me.
Way back in 1998, CNN reported that Halloween was the second biggest holiday of the year for many businesses--a 2007 news story also seemed to confirm this, and according to an article on page D3 of the October 27, 2011 edition of the The 2012 Halloween consumer spending survey from the National Retail Federation predicts that 170 million people will spend a total of $8 billion.
Both are highs in the ten year history of the survey, and the 2011 total spending was $6.86 billion.
She sends him nasty texts saying he is forgetting his friends if he hasn’t seen her for a while, posts catty comments on his facebook page, yet he still won’t cut her off.
He says it is easier to remain friends with her than not to, but I personally won’t surround myself with people who are so toxic.
I’m not saying flat out ignore it (though that’s not entirely a bad idea). I can tell you that when I was on the receiving end of this sort of thing, I was not graceful about it. But then it would eat away at me because, in my mind, there is nothing worse than being played for a fool.
